pain of neglect……by cyclopseven

where the sun can’t find its way through
an old lady stays alone
accompanied only by her hidden shadow
and sorrow;
scarcity of food, leaking tank
talks of starvation beyond famine;
she counts the wrinkles on her body
before its too late to remember again
to answer the gatekeeper beyond death
when he ask her forgotten age
“how old are you?”
once glorious indeed was life
now ignorantly ignored by thickened blood
she now gather sores on her back
and puss underneath her wrinkles;
her counts misses many times
when a maggot or two fall from inside the folded skin
and she count them instead.

an old lady
none cuts her nail
she gores her own flesh
to feed the hungry stomach
with puss dripping from her mouth.
a scene of sin imposed by worn out humanity
a reality of life in the middle of violent selfishness
made out of artificiality.
she knows her coach will arrive soon
so she prays diligently
for a ticket of a first class travel
with saints and God
together will travel.

I pray…..grant her the ticket.

spare one for me.....
will man a day to come leave selfishness?
i smiled cynically at my own face!!
